Pimpama is located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast on the Pacific Motorway. Families, couples and retirees are all catered for with a multitude of walkways and bikeways, parks, fishing, boating and swimming areas.

The suburb is located near the Yatala and Stapylton industrial areas, and is about halfway between the commercial hubs of the Brisbane CBD and Surfers Paradise. Although Pimpama is essentially a more secluded lifestyle, easy access to the Pacific Motorway means a short journey to access shopping complexes and public transport in Gold Coast and Brisbane, as well as leisure facilities like boating and fishing areas.
The surburb itself has the Gainsborough Greens Gold Club and the Le Mans go kart racing complex. Educational facilities are within a short drive of the suburb, including several located in Ormeau and Coomera.
Acreage lifestyle in close proximity to the Gold Coast and Brisbane City will ensure that Pimpama's property market maintains its popularity and continues to grow steadily.
According to the 2001 Census there were 11,279 people living in the Coomera - Cedar Creek area which includes Pimpama with a median age of 34, compared to the Gold Coast' median age of 38.
